Biography

Lauren Astorino is a Nurse Practitioner at the Yale School of Medicine. She serves as study investigator, clinician and provider for multiple clinical trials specializing in treatment-resistant depression, interventional psychiatry, substance use disorder and mobile / community medicine. She supports many facets of research within the Yale Center for Clinical Investigation (YCCI), the Yale Depression Research Program (YDRP) and InSTRIDE. She is a scientific member of the Yale Institutional Review Board (IRB).

Ms. Astorino earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Villanova University, with accolades in clinical excellence. She later earned her master’s degree in nursing from Simmons University in Boston, Massachusetts. She is board certified by the ANCC as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Ms. Astorino has over 25 years of experience in nursing, including critical care, organ donation and transplantation - both pediatric and adult, psychiatry and substance use disorders. She highly values patient and family centered care and is dedicated to ensuring safe, effective and personalized care to her patients and study participants.

Outside of work, Lauren enjoys cooking, hiking, kayaking, and travelling, especially with her husband and blended family of 5 children.
