Biography

Dr. Chen is an instructor in the Section of General Internal Medicine. She obtained her MD at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. She completed her residency and chief residency in the Yale Primary Care Program in internal medicine. During her clinical training, she developed an interest in health care delivery and access, specifically for patients with obesity. She completed both the National Clinician Scholars Program and the T32 Geriatric Clinical Epidemiology and Age-Related Research Program in 2023-2025, during which she started investigating the role of GLP-1RAs in treatment of obesity in older adults. She continues this line of research, utilizing large databases such as Veteran's Health Affairs data, to understand the impact of GLP-1RAs on older adults.
