Biography

Dr. Elizabeth J. Bailey is an American Cancer Society Postdoctoral Fellow at Yale University where she studies the oncogenic virus, Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV), using cryogenic electron microscopes. Dr. Bailey works jointly in the laboratories of Dr. Yong Xiong and Dr. Allison Didychuk in the Department of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry (MB&B).

Previously, as a National Science Foundation GRFP Fellow, she earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Columbia University investigating the mechanism through which the fundamental biological processes of transcription and translation are coupled in bacteria. Dr. Bailey earned her B.A. in Chemistry and Studio Art from Kenyon College where she was a Goldwater Scholar.
