Jacqueline Savage, MD, specializes in the care of the adult patient as an internist and is an assistant professor of medicine, in the department of general internal medicine. She is an associate program director and co-director of ambulatory education in the traditional internal medicine residency program. She serves on the clinical competency committee and the intern selection committee.
Dr. Savage’s research interests include medical education and simulation, the dermatologic exam, disaster preparedness and emergency management. Her work explores the opportunity for internists to be part of the emergency response team, working in interdisciplinary teams to improve upon team dynamics and teaching the foundations of a physical exam, particularly of the skin.
Dr. Savage is the two-time recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award. She was also awarded the American College of Physicians Early Career Physician Teaching Award and the Medical University of South Carolina’s Alumni Emerging Leader Award.
