Biography

Motasem Salamah, DPM, MSPH, is a resident physician in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Yale New Haven Health. With a strong foundation in both medicine and public health, Dr. Salamah is committed to providing exceptional patient care while driving positive change in the field.

A graduate of Pomona College, Dr. Salamah received a full tuition leadership scholarship through the POSSE Foundation. This early commitment to academic excellence and community engagement continued at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, where he earned both a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) and Master of Science in Population Health (MSPH) degrees. During his time at Rosalind, Dr. Salamah distinguished himself academically as a member of the Pi Delta Honor Society and held leadership roles within various student organizations.

Driven by a passion for research, Dr. Salamah has contributed significantly to the understanding of diabetic foot ulcers. His research, supported by an NIH T35 training grant, explored various offloading techniques and was presented at both regional and national conferences. Additionally, his systematic review on surgical offloading of toes through flexor tenotomies further expanded the body of knowledge in this area.

Dr. Salamah's current research interests include Charcot neuroarthropathy, diabetic foot ulcers, osteomyelitis, limb salvage and preservation, peripheral neuropathy, and foot and ankle reconstruction. His dedication to both patient care and research positions him as a promising future leader in the field of Podiatric Medicine.
