Biography

Dr. Saleh Hamdan is a Diagnostic Medical Physics Resident at the Yale School of Medicine Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging.

Dr. Hamdan earned his post-doctoral Medical Physics Certificate from the Medical College of Wisconsin Department of Radiation of Oncology, where he also developed Artificial Intelligence (AI) models that generate treatment plans for patients undergoing radiotherapy.

Prior to his medical physics research, Dr. Hamdan earned his PhD in theoretical physics from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where his thesis research in particle cosmology discovered that dark matter may have significantly different properties than had previously been known.

Dr. Hamdan is passionate about applying the foundational knowledge of physics to the field of medicine to improve patient outcomes. He is currently interested in developing AI to improve medical imaging and diagnosis.
